Warning: This is a relatively long post.
Clean your room: Cliché but very effective. If your room is sparkling clean, apply the same method to the other rooms in the house. If you are currently jobless at home, like me, you might as well do it every day and burn some calories.
Blog: Seriously. This is the time I spend doodling and scribbling for my blog in a diary. Like now. Its 11am and the power just went off and here I am scribbling. The way I do it with all the arrow diagrams and highlighting, one look at it and you’ll be convinced that it’s a master plan to save the world lol.
Read the newspaper: well, not exactly the main newspaper but the supplement that comes along with it :D If I find any useful material, I cut it out and put it in my blog diary and blog about it later on ( don’t look at me like that x_x I’m pretty jobless at home right now and I have nothing else to do >_< )
To- do list: Yup. I spend some time to draw up a list of things to do for the rest of the day. The good news is, I succeed in following it most of the time and again, I owe it to the fact I’m vetti (jobless) at home. grrrr…
Wardrobe: It’s obvious that you got to stack your clothes neatly. And no, this is not included in cleaning your room part.
Mobile clean up: I know this looks like a huge list of clean ups but it will do you a lot of good :D Delete all the messages and other unnecessary things that take up space in your mobile.
Get creative: I do T-shirt cutting, nail art, doodle and hairstyle during this time too :D
Go out: I get out of the house and travel. I explore nearby places especially malls and restaurants mainly because of the air conditioning there :P In the process I find awesome places to shop and eat ^_^
If the power cut is during the night and if you don’t have inverters or generators or any such things at home, like me, then you can still do a couple of things.
Songs: Download lots of albums of every band/singer and even movie soundtracks you can ever find. Load one by one in your mobile/iPod and listen to them. Delete the ones you don’t like and keep the ones you like. You’ll be surprised at the number of amazing songs you can stumble upon this way :)
Family time: As all work comes to a halt, there’s no better time to spend with your family ^_^ Light up candles, gather around, talk, laugh and fight till the power comes back :)
This is all I’ve done and still do during power cuts. Do comment and let me know about the things you do during the dark hours :)

Power cuts are a pain in the you-know-where, but I read and write, (both of which don't require electricity)so it isn't a major disaster. :)
